I went downtown today for that Redbull Flugtag thing. You know, where people roll off of a ledge into the river in their home-made flying machine that clearly will not fly. Anyways, as soon as I got close to my exit I saw that traffic was backed up for over a mile leading to Riverfront Park where the event was taking place. I just kept on going and eventualy turned around and came back home. Seriously, I had no idea Flugtag would draw so damn many people. Maybe they were giving out free Red Bull. Goddamnit, maybe I fucked up real bad.

Anyway, the other day at work Vince Gill was there eating while I went through old song books. I am really hobnobbing with the rich and famous now, huh?

Also, I'm exercising and cutting back on Diet Coke, so we'll see how that goes.

I'm back in Nashville. Being back in Jefferson City was great. I think my parents were glad I came back, and I was glad to take a break from here since I won't be returning home again until July. I'm more excited to be here now then I wass before. I rearranged my room, it has better feng shui.

I'm borrowing my mom's digital camera to take some pictures of crap in Nashville. I'm putting the pictures on facebook, so get excited. Also, I need to buy some more groceries but the key to my room won't be working until 11am tomorrow, so I won't be able to go shop until after work. Poor me.

My boss at work had to fly somewhere for a funeral, so I don't really have anything to do at work. Hence, I'm going to head back home tomorrow instead of waiting until after I get off work on Thursday. It will be nice to interact with people again for a few days.

I interviewed for a paying position at the Country Music Hall of Fame today. The lady who interviewed me was supposed to call me back sometime this afternoon, but hasn't got back to me yet. Oh well. I think the interview went well, and the job, which essentially seems to entail walking around the museum and asking questions people have, seems easy enough. Plus, I would be working with people my own age which would be nice.

I've also decided that I am going to by some new shoes this weekend so I can start running. I know that makes me totally a sellout, but it'll provide some structured fun! Hooray for exercise!

So, I've kept myself pretty busy during my first weekend in Nashville.

Yesterday, I went to the Hermitage, the home of this great nation's seventh president, Andrew "Jackass" Jackson. His house was oddly reminiscent of Graceland, well not really...but, hey why not? I went on a tour of the house with an elderly midwestern couple who asked me a bunch of questions like I was family. They were nice. After walking around the vast estate I came across a large pavilion where a group of volunteers who had been doing landscape work were watching a polished cover band perform "Goodbye Earl" and "Margaritaville." It was historically enlightening.

Later that night I went to a Sergio Mendes concert at the fancy Nashville concert hall. It was way lame. There was some pretty cool percussion, but mostly it was just some pretty crappy elevator music with a bunch of old white people arrhythmically tapping their feet along. It was entertaining at least.

Today I walked around the enormous Vanderbilt campus and came across a pretty sweet record/comic shop and the ATO house. I'm thinking about contacting the ATO's to see about possibly getting a lease for the month of July. But then again maybe not.

I'm going to Nashville Pokemon league for the first time tomorrow. It will be the grand premiere of my as-yet-to-be-completely-completed all delta deck. I hope I don't get pwned like a n00b.
